The Passing

I can no longer control myself.
My hate, my anger, is slowly devouring me.
My pride, slowly taking away what's left of my humanity.
There is nothing left to fight for, to live for.
They have taken me, bound me in chains, and strapped to my demise,
I am helpless to fight, helpless to take back what was me,
Helpless to battle those that I had loved.

My demons, whom I had first thought were my friends,
had their facades removed, their act disrupted,
as they revealed themselves to me.
God himself cannot help me, for I had rejected him time and time again,
and now I lie ashamed and naked, screaming out my imprisonment.
Those voices in my head when will they end?
When will they shut the fuck up and leave me alone?

When will they stop telling me to kill, to infect, to betray.
When will they stop telling me that it doesn't exist, that it never has.
When will they let me die off and pass out from this world.

My own thoughts had betrayed me, my dreams my tormentors.
I had blocked out the light, and now darkness has come to claim my soul.
Demons tearing my body apart, slowly corrupting my soul.
Eating me out, bleeding me dry.
And no one, no one, can help me.

Lost, forlorn, and desperate.
The unholy alliance which I have gotten myself into,
I cannot escape.
I have toyed with powers far greater than what I have imagined,
and I am paying the ultimate price with my life, my soul, my very being.
